wool felt, abaca and kita kata papers, pork intestine, cotton suture and ink
COLLABORATIVE ARTIST BOOK WITH PABLO VINDEL ON TRANSLATION, TENSION AND INBETWEENNESS.
Pablo and I combined our practices: his was working with pork intestine, mine with handmade abaca paper. Both of us were interested in language, translation and the artist book.
Through sutures we combined two thin, skin-like materials. Quieting the rattle of pork and paper with a felt encasement.
All three processes (pork, paper and felt) are hydrophilic in nature. Just like language is created in between the motions of water and air in your mouth.
We ask that two people read this book together—handling the large scale sheets so that they literally become the space between you.
